Current Trends & Strategy
As academic medical centers grow beyond their main campuses, aligning expansion strategies with the core missions of clinical excellence and education becomes critical.
This panel explores how targeted growth through diversified clinical and procedural mini-sites can meet evolving healthcare demands while advancing institutional goals. By embedding micro-hospitals and ambulatory sites in target areas, systems can capture new patient populations, create feeder pathways to tertiary/quaternary care, and support regional continuity of care. Equally important is maintaining strong connection and standardized practices between off-site facilities and the mothership hospital to ensure consistency in care delivery and institutional culture.
Panelists will examine successful off-site expansion efforts, including both ambulatory and micro-hospital off-site models, and provide insights into the operational and strategic considerations behind these initiatives through systems and strategic alliances. Attendees will gain practical perspectives on designing expansion strategies that maintain mission integrity, support educational objectives, and broaden the reach of clinical expertise and elevate care standards across the regions.
