Dr. Obinna O. Oleribe is an accomplished physician, public health expert, and educator with over 25 years of combined experience in clinical practice, leadership, project management, research, and teaching across more than ten countries on three continents. He currently serves as Assistant Professor in the School of Public Health and Health Sciences, College of Medicine, California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), USA.
Dr. Oleribe holds dual MBAs (Cyprus and Nigeria), an MPH and DrPH in Public Health, an MBBS and BMedSc in Medicine, and advanced fellowships from the West African College of Physicians (FWACP, Nigeria) and the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP, London). He has also trained at world-renowned institutions, including Harvard Business School, Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins University, Walden University, University of Nicosia, University of Port Harcourt, University of Benin, and the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (Enugu). In addition, he holds professional certifications in Project and Quality Management (PMI, PRINCE2, and Six Sigma).
Over the past decade, Dr. Oleribe has concentrated on health systems management, non-governmental organization development, and capacity strengthening, with extensive experience in healthcare leadership, public health programming, community-based health services, project management, artificial intelligence in healthcare, and strategies to address social determinants of health and health disparities.
He has worked extensively in West Africa (Nigeria, Ghana, and beyond), Tanzania, the United Kingdom, and the United States, helping to develop health systems, train the next generation of public health leaders, and design community-centered interventions. His collaborations span globally recognized institutions and agencies, including the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), BroadReach Consulting Group, Nigeria Institute for Medical Research (NIMR), National AIDS Control Agency (NACA), Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (UK), Family Health International (FHI), IntraHealth International LLC, UN Foundation/eHealth Africa, and the Health Systems Development Foundation.
Currently, Dr. Oleribe is actively engaged in teaching, research, and service at CSUDH. He serves as Secretary of the American College of Academic International Medicine (ACAIM, USA), Governing Councilor of the American Public Health Association (APHA), Co-Chair of the APHA Health Administration Award Committee, and Board Secretary of the Center for Family Health Initiative (CFHI), California, USA. He is also a committed member of several professional organizations, including APHA, ACAIM, the Project Management Institute (PMI), and the Society of Public Health Educators (SOPHE).
Through his career, Dr. Oleribe has built a reputation as a transformative leader, innovative educator, and dedicated advocate for equitable health systems and sustainable public health solutions.
