Brian N. Mitchell is a seasoned healthcare information technology leader with over three decades of experience driving innovation and alignment for physician practices by enabling clinical operations, revenue cycle and IT strategy. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Information Technology and HIPAA Security Officer for OSU Physicians, Inc.—the faculty practice plan for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center— Mr. Mitchell has played a pivotal role in the development and integration of enterprise systems supporting physician revenue cycle, ambulatory infrastructure, and shared services across human resources, finance, compliance, and managed care. He led technology development on behalf of the physician practices at Ohio State to numerous “firsts”, including the implementation of a unified physician practice management system, a consolidated single-patient billing format, the implementation of a robust data analytics and predictive modeling environment, implementation of physician compensation analytics and benchmarking, among many others.
Mr. Mitchell holds a Specialized Master of Business Analytics from The Ohio State University and maintains credentials as a Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO) and Certified Professional in Health Information Management Systems (CPHIMS). In addition to his operational impact, Mitchell is a speaker at industry events including Epic UGM and FAC conferences and serves as a guest lecturer at OSU. Outside of his professional roles, he is actively involved in community leadership, having served on the board of a health center supporting children with autism and as a longtime Scout leader. With a reputation for strategic foresight, regulatory fluency, and stakeholder collaboration, Mitchell exemplifies the role of technology as a force multiplier in healthcare transformation.
