Lieutenant Colonel Allison Ferro currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Army Baylor Program in Healthcare and Business Administration at the Medical Center of Excellence in San Antonio, Texas. She started her nursing and military career in 2008, graduating with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Molloy University and commissioning as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army as a distinguished military graduate from St. John’s University. She has served as an Army nurse in a variety of patient care settings and administrative roles throughout her career including: staff nurse positions in orthopedics, neurovascular, telemetry, and progressive care, staff researcher on the joint combat casualty care research team (JC2RT), clinical nurse officer-in-charge of inpatient oncology, ROTC Brigade Nurse Counselor, company commander, and chief of clinical education in the U.S. Army burn center. She received her Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Trident University International in 2015 and her PhD in nursing science from The University of Texas at Austin in 2023. Lieutenant Colonel Ferro dedicates her future service to the Army to improving the care of our beneficiaries. She is married with three children ages 10, 7 and 4, and is an active volunteer and member of her church.
