Abigail Campos is a seasoned healthcare leader with over a decade of experience specializing in operational strategy, patient experience, and hospitality-driven care models. In her role as Head of Strategy & Hospitality at NYC Health + Hospitals / Elmhurst, she is responsible for spearheading hospital-wide initiatives to enhance patient, family, and staff experiences. Partnering closely with the Chief Experience Officer, Abigail is focused on integrating human-centered care principles and hospitality-driven strategies to elevate the hospital's service culture.
Abigail's work centers around developing and executing strategies that foster a culture of service excellence, with a particular emphasis on inclusivity, empathy, and personalization. Her leadership extends to driving the integration of cutting-edge innovation, including AI-powered solutions, that aim to transform the delivery of care while maintaining the human touch. Additionally, Abigail is responsible for designing training programs that instill hospitality values across various departments, helping shape an environment where staff feel valued, and patients feel cared for as individuals.
Before taking on this pivotal role at Elmhurst, Abigail worked as an Administrative Manager in the Department of Dermatology at NYU Langone Health. There, she played an instrumental role in optimizing clinical operations for the Skin and Cancer Unit, enhancing patient satisfaction, and streamlining interdisciplinary workflows to ensure high-quality care in a high-demand academic medical environment.
Abigail’s extensive background spans both academic and public healthcare systems. She has led hospital-wide service improvement projects, including initiatives focused on spiritual care and hospitality, helping create transformative environments for patients and staff alike. Her ability to drive change through collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders, such as EHL Hospitality Business School and Press Ganey, underscores her commitment to leveraging data insights and cross-departmental cooperation to make meaningful improvements.
Holding a Master of Science in Management from Fordham University and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Queens College, Abigail’s unique blend of academic credentials and real-world experience allows her to approach healthcare leadership with a holistic perspective.
