Mark Trevor Bennett is not just a healthcare executive; he is a transformative leader whose journey from the United States Air Force to the forefront of healthcare administration is a testament to his unwavering commitment to excellence.
After a distinguished ten-year career as an air traffic controller in the U.S. Air Force, Trevor transitioned to a new mission; serving as an Emergency Room nurse in a level one trauma center. Fueled by a passion for transformative leadership, he pursued an MBA and MSN, propelling him through the ranks to the role of Director in the Operating Room.
Trevor’s legacy of success continued as he undertook the position of Executive Director of Perioperative Services at a level two trauma center. There, he lead a remarkable operational turnaround, elevating perioperative services from an average daily case load of 20-25 to an impressive 70+ surgical cases per day. His achievements caught the attention of the corporate team, leading to a Division Vice President role overseeing 11 hospitals in Alaska, Idaho, and Utah.
A record-setting 102% achievement of surgical budgets positioned Trevor for the role of Chief of Perioperative Nursing at the nationally ranked academic medical center, the University of Rochester, NY. Tasked with navigating the complexities of developing a system and navigating the COVID-19 pandemic, his leadership shone through as he tested every skill acquired throughout his career.
At Providence Swedish in Seattle, WA, Trevor took on the role of Executive Director of Surgical and Interventional Services, swiftly rising to Associate Vice President of Operations for community hospitals and subsequently AVP for downtown campuses and now Chief Administrative Officer of First Hill and Cherry Hill. His tenure at Swedish had been marked by accomplishments ranging from budget optimization, revitalization of a 45-year-old transplant program, and expansion of the daily management system. Trevor has also realized success with negotiating system contacts, reduction in length of stay, multiple physician recruitments, and lead the creation of the Swedish Orthopedic group.
Trevor’s leadership is characterized by operational turnarounds and a steadfast belief that everyone strives to do their best work.
