Salimah oversees the clinical, educational, research and strategic aspects of the Department of Medicine and the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Montefiore Health System which encompasses ~3K staff, faculty and trainees and an annual budget of $300M. Proudly born and raised in Canada, Salimah completed her undergraduate degrees with honors in both Health Sciences and Business Administration at the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University. Following the first part of her career in healthcare consulting, she completed her graduate degrees in Public Health and Business Administration at the Yale School of Public Health and the Yale School of Management. She completed her Administrative Fellowship training at Cleveland Clinic. Prior to Montefiore, Salimah has been in leadership roles at New York-Presbyterian / Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Massachusetts General Hospital and Yale-New Haven Hospital. She is a strong advocate for mentorship and development of top emerging talent.
