Vice President of Patient Safety and Quality

Angela Green, PhD, RN serves as the vice president of patient safety and quality for the Johns Hopkins Health System and principal faculty for the Johns Hopkins Medicine Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality. She partners with teams across Johns Hopkins Medicine to ensure the highest standards of patient safety, quality and patient experience are achieved. She also holds a faculty appointment at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. Known for her strong track record of convening diverse stakeholders to solve challenging problems, Dr. Green has led extensive system integration work in support of a uniform standard for patient safety, quality and patient experience across Johns Hopkins Medicine. Key accomplishments include transformation of system event management processes, including cause analysis and communication and resolution programs (CRP). She is known nationally for expertise in CRP implementation and serves on the Center for Accountability and Improvement Board in support of US efforts for both spread of and a disciplined approach to CRP. She began her career as a nurse and served in nurse practitioner roles in neonatal and pediatric cardiac intensive care before moving into leadership positions.
