Leslie Jurecko, MD, MBA, serves as SVP and Chief Medical Officer for MCIC, a captive insurer that supports top-tier academic medical centers in reducing preventable harm. Dr. Jurecko was the past Chief Safety, Quality, and Patient Experience Officer of Cleveland Clinic Health System. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Jurecko served as Senior Vice President for Quality, Safety and Experience for Spectrum Health (now Corewell Health), a nonprofit integrated health system with multiple hospitals, ambulatory sites and a health plan. Dr. Jurecko earned her MBA from Grand Valley State University, Seidman College of Business, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. She received her medical degree from Wayne State University and completed her pediatric residency at Northwestern University, Children’s Memorial Hospital. Dr. Jurecko also completed the Patient Safety Executive Development Program and the Chief Quality Officer Program IHI. Dr. Jurecko now serves as core faculty for IHI. Becker’s Hospital has named Dr. Jurecko one of the top patient safety experts to know. Driven to reduce preventable suffering of patients and share any learnings broadly, Dr. Jurecko is frequently invited to speak at national conferences.
