As the Vice President of Patient & Family Services at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health, Kimberly Browne champions each day with a commitment to achieving person-centered impact for all patients and families. With a distinguished background in medical social work, Kim honed her expertise in oncology, critical care, and trauma before transitioning into leadership roles in 2011. She has since demonstrated great talent in developing health systems-based social work, care management, and ancillary teams across diverse markets. Her career has spanned notable tenures with Cooper University Health System in Camden, NJ, Banner Health System in Arizona, Tampa General Hospital in Florida, and now Stanford Medicine Children’s Health since May of 2019. Kim’s passions touch on a multitude of areas including the integration of behavioral healthcare into the medical model, public policy and advocacy specific to healthcare, substance abuse intervention, and trauma-informed philosophy as a fundamental measure in addressing social determinants of health.
A northeastern native at heart, Kim completed her undergraduate education at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA. She subsequently went on to earn a Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and doesn’t miss a chance to head back into town for an Eagles game. In her free time, she enjoys cycling, kickboxing, and spending time at the beach.
Kim presently serves as President of the Northern California chapter of American Case Management Association, and joined their National Board in May of 2024. Additionally, she is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, American College of Healthcare Executives, and the Society for Social Work Leadership in Healthcare. Kim is also a Lean Six Sigma advanced yellow belt.
