Maria Barhams Sagoua, MHSA, is Director of Regulatory Innovation at Accumulus Technologies, where she leads the design and implementation of regulatory technology solutions that bridge global health authorities and life sciences organizations. With nearly 20 years of cross-sector experience, Maria has successfully driven initiatives spanning digital health transformation, regulatory modernization, and health system innovation.
Prior to her current role, Maria held senior positions at SAS Institute, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, DrFirst, and the National Institutes of Health. Her career has focused on improving patient access, clinical operations, and regulatory efficiency through technology-enabled solutions. She has built and led multidisciplinary teams, forged strategic partnerships, and contributed to policy-aligned innovation across federal and commercial healthcare landscapes.
Maria holds a Master’s in Health Services Administration from The George Washington University and a Bachelor’s in Biology from Ball State University. She is a Prosci-certified change management practitioner and an active member of the DIA RSIDM Program Committee. Her thought leadership has been featured in the American Academy of Neurology, Health IT Analytics, DIA Global Forum, and at the BIO Convention.
