Ashley Oates is the Director of the Cancer Service Line at Sutter Health, where she leads operational initiatives and teams dedicated to delivering high-quality cancer care across Sutter’s integrated network.
In this role, Ashley led efforts that earned Sutter Health the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer Integrated Network Cancer Program accreditation—a designation that reflects excellence in oncology services, community outreach, screening, and prevention.
Ashley also oversees the systemwide cancer registry, directing the cancer data services department to ensure regulatory compliance with the State of California and maintain the primary data repository that informs research, physician decision-making, and strategic planning. Prior to joining Sutter Health, she worked in pediatric research administration at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.
Committed to advancing cancer care beyond the clinical setting, Ashley has served on the board and executive committee of Keaton’s Childhood Cancer Alliance, where she co-led a strategic rebrand and outreach campaigns to strengthen partnerships within the organization’s footprint.
Ashley holds a Master of Health Administration (MHA) from the University of Pittsburgh and is Certified in Public Health (CPH), a credential that demonstrates expertise in core public health sciences and a commitment to improving population health.
