Ishani Patel, MS, FACHE is the Section Administrator of Pediatric Cardiology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at UChicago Medicine Comer Children’s Hospital, where she has financial, operational, and strategic oversight of all activities within these service lines. She also serves as an adjunct professor at Loyola University Chicago in the Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health, where she teaches Medical Terminology and Careers in Healthcare Administration, a unique experiential class she developed, which provides her students with real-time professional connection to further their career. She currently serves as a Board Member of the Loyola University Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health External Advisory Board. Ishani recently became a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, marking her lifelong commitment to the field. This past year, Ishani received the 2024 Young Healthcare Executive Award by the Chicago Healthcare Executives Forum, under the American College of Healthcare Executives. In 2025, Ishani received the University of Chicago Medicine Department of Pediatrics Diana Havill Ryan Senior Service Award. Ishani received her Master of Science in Health Systems Management at Rush University and her Bachelor of Science in Health Systems Management at Loyola University Chicago, where she was awarded the 2020 Distinguished Alumni of Loyola University’s Parkinson School of Health Science and Public Health. In 2025, Ishani was awarded the Diana Havill Service Award at the University of Chicago for her service. In 2019, Ishani published a paper in the International Journal of Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Marketing centered around the return on investment of international patients to American hospitals, a growing service line across many institutions in the nation. Ishani is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives Chicago Healthcare Executives Forum, serving as the Chair of the Membership and Advancement Committee and Co-Chair of the Awards commitee. She enjoys continuing her education to seek opportunities to continue optimizing care delivery for the patients her service lines serve and the development of the future generation of healthcare executives.
